Data centre market to grow
AMA Research published a report on the current state of data centre construction in the UK and predicted that growth shown from statistics in 2010 and 2011 imply that continued growth is likely to occur up until 2015. This follows more recent talks about the government’s plan to improve energy efficiency across technology sectors as part of the effort to make the nation “greener”.
This indicates that in the coming years the market value for the construction of data centres will see strong growth with most of the work beginning toward the end of 2012. Currently predicted to be valued at around £1.2 billion, the data centre construction market looks to be valued at around £1.7 billion by 2015.
Most likely this is strong evidence that the government are looking toward making the UK more up-to-date in the technology industry as a whole as it has been addressed on multiple occasions that If we don’t look into developing our IT sectors through the building and construction of IT and Tech related projects; these markets will see the UK fall behind in the global economy.
