Missing out on candidates?

We at BSV have recently noticed that several of our clients have failed to fill their engineering jobs or secure candidates they wanted. This was because they delayed decision making on the off chance a better engineer or cheaper alternative might come along.

Over the past 2 years, with high unemployment, there have been several candidates available for each engineering job. Clients felt that if they missed the first candidate another one would be around the corner; whilst not ideal for us agents this policy might have been justified.

However with more positions available across the country, Clients are not in the driving seat quite as much. Over the past 3 months we have noticed a massive increase in Clients asking if candidates are still available, only be told that they are not.

The best candidates in each skill set are currently employed, there might be other staffing options available but are they the right candidates for your business? Or are they just a slightly cheaper stop-gap option?

At BSV, we understand the importance of introducing a candidate that can not only do the job required but also fit within the pay scales and culture that are on offer, with the introduction in place we need Clients to work closer and react quicker with a decision to ensure that the candidate doesn’t end up working for someone else!
